Will the Dark web ever be the same again ?
As time passes by it seems that the dark web no longer remains the same. It appears that law enforcement agencies are steadily tightening their grip over the Dark web. Major platforms on the Dark web like the infamous Dream market or the Wall Street market along with many others have been recently taken down by the FBI in collaboration with other Law enforcement groups. While just recently the CIA established their own .onion site for what they claim is for people that may want to give them sensitive information “anonymously”.
From the looks of it privacy and anonymity on the dark web seem to be fading away due to law enforcement entities monitoring the dark web continuously and with great effort. While it may be relieving for many to hear that illegal activities on the Dark web are decreasing at a fast rate but it also indicates that privacy and free speech on the dark web might also be at risk of permanently disappearing. The question here is will the Dark web ever be the same again?
It`s no secret that the Tor browser was originally developed by the US government and afterwards released to the public but now it seems that they want to take back control over it. All the while dark web users are now uncertain of what is going to happen to the dark web in the future.
